Rachel Bennett Steury splits her time between Hawaii, California and Indiana where she and her husband foster a thriving wildlife habitat. She is “Aunt Rae” to more than forty young people in a big beef-and-noodle working class family.
Rachel's writing has been featured in national outlets such as UU World, Coping with Cancer Magazine, Wildfire Magazine and Industry Week, and in regional outlets including Indianapolis Business Journal, Building Indiana, The Sacramento Bee, The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette and Valley Scene Magazine. Her most recent project is a memoir Losing My Kidney and Finding My Voice: Confessions of a Living Donor and is forthcoming. She is the author of “The Real Rachel BS” on Substack.
If you’re interested in quirky worlds, I have lived within them and have a lot to say on the matter. Housesitting. Minimalism. Sicilian Genealogy. Kidney donation. Volunteerism. Unitarian Universalism. And of course, cancer.
